Donna was born in Huddersfield and brought up in the Colne valley where she attended local primary and junior schools and Colne valley high school. After leaving school, Donna trained in the catering and tourism industry.
Donna became involved in politics when she saw her parents' post office threatened with closure, she began to campaign alongside prospective parliamentary candidate at the time Jason McCartney.
Donna is married to Chris with one grown-up son and 5 grandchildren.
Living in Colne valley I soon realised I wanted to make a difference and make improvements for everyone in the area.
I’m passionate about where I live and work, and want the area to thrive, both with business and tourism.
Since 2011 I have sat as a member on the planning committee and also the strategic planning committee since its creation, where I always take the views of residents seriously.
